What do we offer? Simulations tailored to your application, code/algorithm development, training, and consulting for plasma-physics applications by PhD scientists. We can bring our own code or we can work with your existing tools.
Who are we? We have decades of experience working on computational plasma physics. See the “About us” tab to view our full bios and find links to our published works and open-source projects.
How can we engage? We can contract directly or collaborate on proposals to solicit funds from US government agencies such as the US Department of Energy. We are open to an NDA if appropriate.
What are our interests? Magnetized plasma-physics simulation with applications including fusion power plants, plasma propulsion, and solar physics.
What is our primary simulation code? We are senior developers on the NIMROD extended magnetohydrodynamic code (nimrodteam.org). Technical jargon: Our skillset and the code specialize in magnetically confined plasma regimes that may include multiple ion species where each plasma species is near a flow-shifted Maxwellian distribution. We can use sophisticated equation closures to approximate high-order moments that capture the effects from Maxwellian distribution deviations.
What sets us apart? As lead developers, we have considerable experience adapting the NIMROD code to new configurations and extending the physics model. Our deliverables range from academic publications, to fast turnaround simulation results for design input, to new code capabilities.
Can your organization access NIMROD? Probably. Access is restricted by US export control but is otherwise provided with a signed user agreement.
